If you received a letter from Reclaim Georgia saying the State of Georgia is holding unclaimed property in your name, you are right to be skeptical. The short version

Yes, the letter is real. Reclaim Georgia is registered with the Georgia Department of Revenue as a Claimant Designated Representative (CDR #202400088), the legal designation Georgia uses to authorize companies to help residents recover unclaimed property. Our LLC is registered with the Georgia Secretary of State (Control #26062343).

But you don’t have to take our word for any of that. Every claim we make about ourselves can be verified through public records that you can search yourself in about five minutes.

How to verify the letter in three steps

Step 1: Confirm Reclaim Georgia is a registered CDR

Georgia DOR keeps a register of every company authorized to act as a Claimant Designated Representative (CDR). Call the DOR Unclaimed Property Program at (855) 329-9863, or email ucp.cdr.registration@dor.ga.gov, and ask whether Reclaim Georgia LLC, CDR #202400088, is currently registered. They will confirm, typically within one business day.

Step 2: Confirm the LLC exists with the GA Secretary of State

Visit ecorp.sos.ga.gov/BusinessSearch and search for Reclaim Georgia LLC or control number 26062343. The state record will show the registered LLC, its formation date (March 20, 2026), and its registered agent. This is the same public-records system used to verify any business operating in Georgia.

Step 3: Verify the claim independently on the state portal

The single most important step. Go to gaclaims.unclaimedproperty.com — the official State of Georgia unclaimed property search — and search for your own name. If your property is listed there, the letter we sent you is accurate. If it isn’t, it may have been paid out or placed under review since we wrote to you, or listed under a different spelling; contact us and we will tell you what changed.

Reclaim Georgia uses the same Georgia DOR database that powers the official portal. We do not invent or fabricate claims — we identify property the state is already publishing in its public records and reach out to the rightful owner.

What a legitimate Reclaim Georgia letter looks like

Every letter we send includes:

• Our CDR registration number (#202400088)
• The specific property type and dollar amount the state is holding for you
• A reference number you can enter on this site to see the record it refers to
• Our business address and phone number
• The solicitation notice Georgia requires, in capital letters
